Start with the room you have

A useful plan before more stuff.

The best next move is not always buying more. Erica looks at the room, the goal, the budget, and what is already working before recommending what to edit, move, source, or style.

Selected work

Homes that feel like themselves — just clearer.

Each project begins with a different problem: a listing that needs to photograph better, a room without a clear purpose, or a home that needs to work harder for the people in it.

A straightforward process

Clear decisions, one room at a time.

  1. 01

    Walk through

Erica starts with the room, the goal, the timing, the budget, and what is already working.

  2. 02

    Edit

The first step is often subtraction: clearer circulation, fewer distractions, and a stronger purpose for each room.

  3. 03

    Source

Existing pieces, marketplace finds, estate-sale treasures, antiques, and new layers all stay on the table when they serve the space.

  4. 04

    Finish

Styling brings the plan together so the room feels welcoming, useful, and ready for its next chapter.

Erica's point of view

An eye for what is worth keeping.

Erica Ferlin founded Fig & Fern to bring the practical discipline of home staging together with the warmth and character of lived-in interiors.

Her work is not about erasing personality or filling a room for the sake of it. It is about finding the better layout, the stronger focal point, the useful vintage piece, or the finishing layer that helps a home make sense.

Warm woods, grounded color, organic texture, old pieces, new pieces, and a little breathing room all have a place when they help the room move forward.
